Microsoft and Vodafone have long sought to collaborate on artificial intelligence technology to develop a Turkish-based chat robot. These efforts have been successfully completed thanks to Microsoft's Language Understanding (LUIS), a natural language understanding technology that has been widely used around the world.
As a result of these studies, LUIS will be a digital assistant to provide complete communication opportunities to Vodafone subscribers by making accurate inferences in many preferred languages without the need for translation into Turkish. With this technology, all questions of Vodafone subscribers regarding bill payments, tariff changes, and current device prices will be answered in an uninterrupted, fast, and understandable manner without human intervention.
Most TOBI systems used so far have provided English-based services, using automatic translation systems for users. However, with the newly developed artificial intelligence technology, a system, which is in Turkish as the native language, serves the users without the need for any translation.
With this new system developed by Microsoft and Vodafone in sync, Turkish has been brought to the forefront more than any other language in the field of artificial intelligence. The Turkish language support provided to LUIS means that Turkish can be used as a natural language just like English in other projects; Turkish reading and comprehension, correcting spelling mistakes and correct usage of Turkish will be added.
Thus, in parallel with the development of technology, groundbreaking artificial intelligence will make important contributions in our Turkish language. In recent years, efforts to overcome the problems encountered in translation and the progress achieved are promising.
