Some frequent mistakes in translations have led to much ridiculous news. Publication channels, such as newspapers and news sites, which are easily accessible to people, make publications that make all of us laugh from time to time about incorrect translations. The people who suffer most from this situation are the craftsmen. Additionally, those who are not sworn translators may occasionally make such mistakes. If we differentiate our perspectives on languages after sufficient knowledge and work, we will be able to correct the mistakes with knowing grammar.
The first thing we need to pay attention to the subject is that we shouldn’t treat a word that we use by taking it from English or another language and thus settling it in our language. Because we have internalized every word that we adapt to our language, we have brought it to Turkish by adding harmony to the word with the secrets of our language. The more mathematical language English is, the more emotional Turkish is. For us, the feeling that we can transfer to the other side is always in the foreground. Instead of saying ’hi’ shortly, we say ’hello’ in a correct tone. Because the mystery of Turkish is in the right tone. We express our feelings the way we voice our words. We are in no hurry to speak. We understand all that is said by slowly digesting it and expressing it in our own way.
On the other hand, English, which we accept as the world language, is accepted as the simplest language to understand according to the research done by linguists. Because, according to linguists, English is a mathematical language based on logic. As an example by comparing it with our own language: ‘’ Ben Okula gideceğim‘’ In this sentence, what is important is the purpose of the person. In Turkish, the actual action is used to serve as a predicate at the end of the sentence. However, this is the exact opposite in English. What is important in this language is to emphasize the action taken first and then go into details. If we were to write the same sentence in English, we could have translated it as ’Ben gidiyorum okula’’.
